Annie-B Sportfishing

Sesuit Neck Road
Dennis MA, United States

Join Captain Michael and his brother Captain Rick for an exciting fishing adventure on Cape Cod. The brothers have both been USCG licensed for over 15 years, but have been fishing the Bay since the ‘60s. The Annie-B was built in 1977 for their father at the Bruno Stillman Boatyard, and has been chartering on Cape Cod Bay for over 35 years.

Annie-B is 42’ fiberglass boat that features a wide beam for added stability, as well as a 430 HP Cummins turbo diesel for power and a bow thruster for added control and reliability. She features one movable and four permanent fishing chairs on a spacious deck, outriggers, a roomy carpeted cabin with cushioned bunk and a table, restroom facilities (nice when bringing the family), and space out in front of the cabin for spin-casting. With sheltering on three sides from the prevalent southern winds, you will be less prone to ‘bumpy’ rides. The boat comes equipped with 25 trolling, jigging, and spin-casting rods that are all fitted with Penn and Daiwa reels.

Annie-B Sportfishing offer 4, 5, 6, and 8 hour trips where they mostly target Striped Bass and Bluefish, although other species are caught as well. The crew will provide you with all the necessary rods and equipment, while fishing licenses are also included. An experienced first mate will be on hand to teach you (if needed) and filet and bag your catch at no additional cost.

Situated in the middle of the northern side of the “Arm” of Cape Cod, Annie-B Sportfishing can be easily reached from most Cape towns, and are closer to the fishing spots - which means more fishing and less travelling. The crew look forward to meeting you, and exceeding your fishing expectations!

My father had the boat built when he retired in 1978 and ran it for 30+ years. I started going with him on trips 20 years ago and when I retired in 2002, I took over full time.

We booked a half day trip. We met the crew at the dock and set out. We heard stories about past trips, what other charters had caught in the area, and what to expect. It was a windy day and we still caught 5 fish. My dad caught the second biggest of the season. It was a great experience. We will definitely be doing it again next time we in the cape.

The fishing was disappointing- five small bass between the three of us- but this was better than the last couple of years on our annual day fishing in Cape Cod bay in august, while consistent with   a general decline in fish stocks, probably courtesy seals and the sharks that accompany them. The company did, however more than make up for the lack of fish and we all enjoyed the trip.

This was my first sea fishing charter (I am very familiar with Great Lakes king salmon fishing).  First time for the others on this trip as well.  Due to weather, this was a reschedule from an earlier booking, and the weather looked less than promising today as well.  We decided that fortune and fishing favor the bold, so we went.  We may have started slow, but Captain Mike, Rick, and Trooper were able to make some adjustments and put us squarely on some beautiful stripers.  We hit our limiting well within our allotted time.

The captain and crew were personable and knowledgeable, and were able to sufficiently instruct us in the differences between striper fishing on Cape Cod Bay and king salmon fishing on Lake Ontario, saving us the embarrassment of returning empty handed.  Further, they were generous with their knowledge, and conversation was easy and relaxed, and ranged into many topics.

I would recommend this charter to anyone wishing to enjoy a day of fishing, as it was everything a day of fishing should be.
