The Blue Mana fishes from start to finish because only one rule really applies to catching fish…. if you have a bait in the water and a fish is there and it’s hungry, you’re gonna catch fish.  If the fishing is slow, we’ll even extend the time some.   That’s why my crew and I have never been skunked.

About the Captain

C Michael Biggie "Capt Biggs"
Islamorada, Florida, United States
Member since March 2016
As a lifelong resident of South Florida, Captain Biggs has fished all of Florida's waters: the Atlantic all the way up to Jacksonville, and the Gulf all the way to Pensacola. Nowhere has his passion for fishing, taking people fishing, and teaching people to fish been satisfied as in the Florida Keys and "The Sportsfishing Capital of the World" - Islamorada. After careers in property management and television production, Captain Biggs decided to hang up the suit and tie and get paid for what he's done all his life: take people fishing. Like all others, Captain Biggs started his career on the deck learning to be a good mate, and over the years earned his six pack license, and then worked on the bigger boats to earn his 100 Ton license. A successful fishing trip has a lot to do with a good mate, and the best mates are the "freelance" mates who fish with all the best captains. Captain Biggs utilizes a small core of these freelancers who have shown the same passion for their customers.

Caught fish and had fun! Colby the mate was a stand up guy and worked his butt off!

Even though gin clear water makes for a tougher bite on the reef, you folks got the hang of it pretty quick. Hope Ken lived up to his cooking promises.

Capt. Biggs and Justin were excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.  Capt Biggs was very responsive and helpful in booking the trip details. The boat was spacious and equipped for all kinds of fishing.  Capt. Biggs is in the process of upgrading the boat to allow handicapped passengers/veterans - very cool project, but no AC as the generator wasn’t back - not a big deal as a rain the day before had cooled it down a bit. Unfortunately, we chose a day after 2 clear nights and a full bright moon - which means the fish feed at night and aren’t hungry during the day. We found several large balls of yellowtail snapper but only got 3 legal ones and a few other miscellaneous fish. But the captain tried everything and gave us an extra hour and a half to try trolling after reef fishing. It was a fun day and I’d recommend Capt Biggs and the Blue Mana for any recreational fishermen.  Thanks!
