Based out of Port O’Connor, Texas, Laguna Rod and Gun offers quality charters fishing the coastal waters of West Matagorda Bay to San Antonio Bay system.

Owned and operated by Capt. Steve, Laguna Rod and Gun uses a 26 ft Mowdy catamaran is equally suited to fishing the flats as to tackling the nearshore waters. Powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine, the boat can cruise at up to 45 knots and will get you to the fish in no time. The boat was built in 2016 and is equipped with a variety of amenities, including a trolling motor and a range of navigational electronics.

As well as fishing in the bay for Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder, you could also venture up to nine miles offshore to target Red Snapper in season with Capt. Steve. You will mainly be using light tackle with artificial lures, although if you would prefer to fish with live bait this can be made available at market price on request. Capt. Steve can also cater for those who would like to try drift or wade fishing.

As well as running fishing charters, Capt. Steve also manages a lodge located right on the banks of the Arroyo river. Comfortably sleeping eight, the lodge has great views and a screened porch.
