Salmon Fishing -
June 20 - July 10: Kasilof River
July 10 - Aug 15: Sterling/ Soldotna
Trout Fishing -
June 11 - Sept 30: Cooper Landing/ Sterling/ Soldotna
Boat Options: Drift boats and power boats depending on conditions
Capacity:
- Salmon trips: up to 5 passengers
- Trout trips: up to 4 passengers
- Serious anglers: 2–3 per boat for maximum opportunity
Private & Shared Boats: Choose a tailored private experience or a fun group adventure
Family-Friendly: Kids welcome, must have properly sized life vest
All Gear Provided: Premium fly rods, reels, flies, and tackle
Fishing License: Required for all anglers, easy to purchase online or with guidance from us

Our guide Chris was able to get us into a prime spot and got us fishing right away after a quick demonstration of the methods. He gave us tips throughout the morning and kept us going. We ended with a full limit of sockeye for three people. None of us had done this type of fishing before and we all enjoyed. My wife was the best in the group landing several larger fish. Overall it was a great experience!

Salmon Fishing Full Day on July 30, 2026 • 5 adults • 1 childMost operators are happy to call it quits early; but when we limited out before or time ran out, we got to go on a boat ride to the lake - where we saw Bears! Of course the salmon were running and the bears came out on their own accord, but Chris was a solid guide. He was patient with our teenaged sons, knowleadgable about the region, processes, and nature, operated with safety in mind, and had a lovely demeanor. I only wish he wasn't booked tomorrow!

Trout Fishing Half Day on July 19, 2025 • 2 adultsDrew was a great host and guide. My son caught twice as many fish as I did and it seemed we were doing everything the same. Still, Drew tried making adjustments for me, like changing the depth, flies, etc. to give me a little more success. It seemed to just be poor luck on my part. We both caught fish and had a great time. Drew seems to know the river very well and knows how to put you on fish. And as my son commented, there were a lot of people paying just to float the river and the rapids. We got to do that and fish, too!

We’re from Maine and like most anglers, have always dreamed of salmon fishing in Alaska. We got an early start, on the water at 5:00 a.m., but it was well worth it. The salmon were more aggressive early but bit consistently all morning long. We ended up putting 9 nice fish in the boat. Captain Drew was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be around. He is very focused in putting his anglers on the fish. I highly recommend Lost Boys Charters.

Went and did a full day fishing for trout/salmon and we limited out! Drew was an awesome guide and could have not done a better job!
