Crosshaven has a fish with your name on it, so let Fishing with Fergus help you catch it! Captain Fergus will be your guide, so you’ll benefit from years of angling experience.
Around here it’s common to catch Coalfish, Cod, Common Ling, Conger Eel, Dogfish, Gilt-head (Seabream), Gurnard, Haddock, Atlantic Mackerel, Pollock, Ray, European Seabass, and more with any luck.
For these species, you’re likely to drift and bottom fish using light tackle.
Children are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You’ll be casting lines from a 23’ Arvor 230AS sportfishing vessel with room for 3 passengers. It comes with all the essentials.
Capt. Fergus has rods and reels for you. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, it may be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s always wise to bring sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is not allowed. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.
Now, time to hit the water with Fishing with Fergus!
