If you’re ready to love fishing in Islamorada, book a trip with On The Reel Charters. With Captain Richard at the helm, you’re in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Black Grouper, Blue Marlin, African Pompano Jack, Wahoo, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Mutton Snapper, Skipjack Tuna, Amberjack, Yellowtail Snapper, Cero Mackerel, Blackfin Tuna, and plenty more. During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Richard can also have you kite fishing.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. You’re welcome to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You’ll find yourself aboard a 35’ SeaVee center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Richard will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
It’s never a bad idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Your trip with On The Reel Charters is just a click away, so why not make it happen?
