Stray Cat Charter Fishing
Stray Cat Fishing Charters have been providing quality sport fishing charters in Michigan since 1994. They fish the Western Basin of Lake Erie for Perch and Walleye from May to October and are located just north of Toledo, Ohio, and just south of Monroe, Michigan, giving them the flexibility to fish either state’s waters depending on the conditions. This means that on any given day with Stray Cat, you will have the opportunity to fish the most productive area possible.
You will be fishing aboard a 30’ Cherokee Hardtop vessel that accommodates up to 6 anglers in comfort. Powered by twin 350 HP Crusader engine, the boat can reach productive fishing grounds quickly and efficiently. It is equipped with top of the range electronics by Furuno and Raymarine, allowing your captain to transport you to the best possible fishing grounds on the day of your trip. On top of this, Shimano and locally made tackle are supplied on board, giving you the peace of mind that you will be fishing with high-quality gear.
Capt. John believes that trolling is the most effective way of fishing the Lake, and offers this method exclusively on his charters due to inconsistent results when drift fishing for Walleye. He targets this popular game fish from May to July, switching to Perch from August to October to ensure that he is always targeting the most rewarding catch for the season.
All the gear you will need for your trip is included in the charter rate, so all you will need to bring is a valid fishing license, appropriate clothing for the weather, soft soled shoes, any food and drinks you might need (please do not take glass bottles on board), and a cooler so you can take your fish home at the end of the day.
