Stray Cat Fishing Charters have been providing quality sportfishing charters in Michigan since 1994. They fish the Western Basin of Lake Erie for Perch and Walleye from May to October. Located north of Toledo, Ohio, and south of Monroe, Michigan, they have the flexibility to fish either state’s waters. This means that on any given day with Stray Cat, you will have the opportunity to fish the most productive area possible.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 30’ Cherokee Hardtop commercial boat, perfect for cruising these prolific waters. It accommodates up to 6 anglers in comfort. Powered by twin 350 HP Crusader engine, the boat can reach productive fishing grounds quickly and efficiently.

It has top of the line electronics, allowing your captain to transport you to the best possible fishing grounds on the day of your trip. Shimano and locally-made tackle are supplied on board, giving you the peace of mind that you will be fishing with high-quality gear.

Capt. John believes that trolling is the most effective way of fishing the Lake, and offers this method exclusively on his charters. He targets this popular game fish from May to July, switching to Perch from August to October to ensure that he is always targeting the most rewarding catch for the season.

It usually takes only 10 minutes to reach your fishing spot. When you’re targeting Walleye, you’ll need to take turns – for Perch, everybody can fish at the same time.

All the gear you will need for your trip is included in the charter rate. All you will need to bring is a valid fishing license, appropriate clothing, soft-soled shoes, any food and drinks you might need (please do not take glass bottles on board), and a cooler so you can take your fish home at the end of the day.
