As Erie is well known for her winds and choppy seas, most days you will try to utilize the drift provided to cover water and cast worms to entice a feeding Walleye. In somewhat heavier winds, bottom bouncers shine bright and afford a manageable setup to ensure customers a shot at a heavy bag due to quality class fishing often associated with these days and approach.
On trolling trips, you can expect to troll utilizing planer boards pulling crankbaits, spoons as well as worm harnesses. This tactic is often a productive method on flat calm, sunny days where the necessity to cover vast amounts of water as the fish disperse due to light penetration and their highly light-sensitive eyes.
You’ll step aboard a 29’ Baja Cruiser Pilothouse that can fish up to up to 5 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, bait, and tackle are included, along with lures. Customers are welcome to bring any of their own gear as long as it is within reason. (i.e. fly fishing, extremely light or heavy tackle, or easily damaged or unreplaceable items are discouraged)
Things to get/bring include a valid Ohio fishing license, food/beverages, (The Captain asks to fit into one (1) hard cooler or a few smaller soft-sided ones), sunglasses, proper cold and precipitation gear, a cooler, or means to transport your catch home.
