Platte Bay Coho - Chromeseekers
Chromeseekers Sportfishing welcomes you to the stunning waters of Platte Bay where you will be fishing for Coho Salmon. You can jig and cast for them with the rod in your hand, or let Captain Dan set lines for you as you troll. The scenery is magnificent and as close to Alaska as you will get in Michigan. We leave from the closest boat launch to where the coho are.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, and whatever else takes the bait.
You can expect to do some spinning, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. This trip is specialized to your liking. Book trolling if you want to troll multiple lines or Book early in the season for jigging and casting. Book later in the season if you want to cast.
Due to the poor boat launch in Glen Arbor and 30 mile boat ride, we leave from Frankfort.
It is recommended to have 1 - 3 people in case weather ruins the trip. This way we can still fish the Betsie river if you desire on captain Dans drift boat. Of coarse it’s completely up to you what you prefer.
Your fishing machine for the day is a 22’ Hewecraft with capacity for 6 passengers. It has downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
Your captain will provide rods and reels.
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online.
Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
You could keep reading this, but wouldn’t you rather be fishing with Chromeseekers Sportfishing?
