Looking to catch some fish in Port Jefferson? Long Island Light Tackle is here to make it happen! With Captain Rick at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Striped Bass, Bluefish, Weakfish, Scup (Porgy), Little Tunny (False Albacore), Flounder, and whatever else is biting. Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Rick also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Children are welcome, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Your boat for the day is a 23' center console with space for 3 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Long Island Light Tackle!

I’m not from around the area but travel down for work frequently. I always wanted to do some fishing after work and Captain Rick offers the after work special which worked perfectly for me. On my way he gave me a call and told me where to park which was very helpful. In a few short minutes we were out in the sound doing some fishing. He’s knows a lot about fishing and the area and hes great company as well. We were targeting stripers and we got a few bites, some were missed by my own user error but we got one in the boat. The rest werent cooperating much but we kept at it. Overall, I had a great night on the sound and can’t wait to go again.

Captain Richard was friendly and motivated. He worked hard to find the fish. Fun time had by all. We will be back again.
