Spend the day with Mikey’s Guide Service and let them show you what makes the fishing in Chesapeake Beach so memorable! With Captain Michael at the helm, you’ll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
Fishing around here will often see you targeting Crab, Spotted Seatrout, Bluefish, Cobia, Black Seabass, Striped Bass, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and more if you come at the right time of year.
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Michael also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 22’ KenCraft Challenger center console with a capacity for 4 passengers. It has all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It’s recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
