***MUSKY TRIPS ARE TEMPORARILY ON HOLD DUE TO HOT WATER TEMPERATURES. HOPEFULLY THINGS WILL BE BACK TO NORMAL BY THE END OF JULY. IF YOU’RE PLANNING A TRIP, SEND ME A MESSAGE INQUIRING ABOUT WATER CONDITIONS***

Forest Lake has a fish with your name on it, so let Musky Geek Guide Service help you catch it! Captain Brandon will be your guide, which means you’ll tap into years of knowledge and experience.

These waters are known for Muskellunge (Musky), Largemouth Bass, and more – with any luck, it won’t take long to hook into some. During the trip, you’ll learn about muskies seasonal patterns, how to find fish holding locations, proper fishing techniques, proper fish handling practices and so much more. Casting trips are the primary technique, but trolling for muskies is
also an option, especially in the fall.

Trips with Musky Geek Guide Service are open to the whole family, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!

You’ll be dropping lines from a 19’ Champion bass boat that can carry up to 3 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.

You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

It’s recommended to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray).

I've been fishing my entire life and the passion only continues to grow. Musky fishing is my specialty, I've been chasing these amazing fish for over 20 years. It never gets old seeing a fish following behind your bait.

The summer bass bite is heating up! While I wait the water temperatures to get back to a safe level to musky fish, I've been taking advantage of an excellent bass bite! We're getting them on everything from jigs and plastics to topwater frogs in the lilly pads.

Due to hot water, I've put musky fishing on hold until it cools down. BUT, we've been able to get on a really good largemouth bite! The fish have schooled up into their summer patterns and they are HUNGRY! The bite has mostly consisted of a jig and plastic in a couple of variations, but we're getting them on a lot of different baits right now.

Muskies are starting to get active with this warm weather we've had lately. They are starting to move slightly off the weeds where bait fish is holding in giant schools. When one musky shows up, usually there is another one or two in the same area. Fishing is getting good!
