Bay Fishing Port O'Connor

2649 Stella Street
Port O'Connor TX, United States

Come fish the middle Texas Gulf coast for Tarpon, Sharks, Speckled Trout, and Redfish with Capt. Will Granberry and Bay Fishing Port O’Connor.

Capt. Will fishes the bay systems around Port O’Connor, including Matagorda Bay, Espiritu Santo Bay, and San Antonio Bay, all of which are protected from the Gulf of Mexico by a system of barrier islands. This makes the perfect conditions for a flourishing eco system that attracts a variety of inshore game fish which feed around the barrier islands.

You could be surf fishing aboard Capt. Will’s 20 ft Marshall Marine flats boat, or wading - it’s your choice. The boat accommodates up to four passengers and is fitted with an Evinrude E-Tec engine and Simrad electronics to get you to the fish.

Choose between fishing the flats and backcountry for Speckled Trout and Redfish, or the bays, passes and gulf beach fronts for large game fish such as Sharks and Tarpon in the summer. Please note that all Sharks and Tarpon are catch and release only.

Great time fishing with Capt Will. We started out targeting trout but had a hard time keeping position in the windy bay. Moved into the marsh where we drift fished for reds and had some luck. Tried three more spots which all produced Reds/Trout. Capt Will worked his butt off to put us on the fish. Will book him again!

Thank you for booking with us Jason!  It was a blast getting to know you and your wife.  It was a pleasure getting to teach y’all new lure fishing techniques and show y’all the diversity of the Port O’Connor area.  Looking forward to the next adventure!

Had a great time with a Great Captain!! Will was on it all day and we limited out in a couple hours for speckled trout. He has been a great captain and is passionate about fishing. You can tell that he actually spends time working the bay and knows where the fish are going to bite. I had brought my Aunt and Mom from out of state and they were thrilled about the professionalism and the great personality of Captain Will. Once we caught our trout we went and caught Redfish the rest of the day and it was a blast. He takes great care of his boat and all the equipment, is in great shape. Everything was great. I can’t give a better reference and better time than Captain Will. Highly recommended!!

What a day!  I took my 14 year old daughter and Father-in-Law on an all day Redfish Trip.  Captain Will had us on Reds fast and we all caught our limit before 10:45 that morning.  Even though we had caught our limit, Captain will took us out to the bay where we fished for trout the rest of the day.  In all, we caught nearly 30 fish between the three of us . Captain Will is very knowledgable, courteous, and you can tell he loves introducing kids to salt water fishing.  I see shark and bull red trips in our near future.  My daughter already wants to go for her birthday in September.

Had a blast with this couple today. We were able to break the "we never catch anything" curse they had by catching a bunch of Redfish and Speckled Trout. Fish were caught on topwaters, gold spoons, and hop-o-matics. Great… Read Full Report →
