I can’t say enough about the EXELENT experience we had with Captain James “Baitrun Charters” he was very polite, fun to be around, and knowledgeable. We went fishing in Tampa Bay on February 23rd, and 24th, 2026. Tampa Bay had very unusual weather. The temperature was in the mid to lower 30s and the bay was choppy with white cap waves. With his skill of handling the boat Captain James was able to limit the bounce of the boat all the way across the bay and put us directly on fish. We caught Sheepshead, Redfish, Mangrove Snapper, Sea Trout, and a lot of Lady fish, as well as other varieties of fish. It was a wonderful two 8 hour days of fishing. Because of the unusual weather he also offered us the opportunity to move the dates to the following day when the weather was much calmer and the temperature much warmer, but because of our unmovable appointments, and plans we were unable to make any changes to our dates. He was there waiting on us, ready to go when my brother-in-law and I showed up at 8:00 AM, for both days of fishing. He also had live bait ready on board and every time we caught a fish he removed the fish, measured it to ensure it was a keeper, and had bait in hand to replace the bait we lost during our excursion. He had bait wells and fish wells to keep them both alive until we were done. Upon the return of our trip, he also cleaned and filleted the fish, placing them in plastic zip locks bags and placed them in our cooler along with ice. We saw plenty of dolphin, manatees, stingrays, and other fish as we floated around the fishing spots, where Captain James knew just where to take us to catch plenty of fish, and he kept the boat from blowing around during the fishing. I cannot describe the wonderful experience that we had during this excursion. I HIGHLY recommend “Baitrun Charter” to anyone who wants to catch fish, see saltwater wildlife and have and extraordinary experience. If I could give him a higher rating it would be 20 stars if not more. He will not disappoint you at all!!! Don Dietz

CaptJames was awesome. Brings you to a couple different spots, helps as much as you want. We did the sunset fish and brought us right where we could fish in a great spot and see the sunset at the same time. Even reached out in advance because the weather didn’t work great on our day so we rebooked better time/weather on the spot

Was enjoyable fishing trip and very accommodating captain that put us on fish and when a 81 year old mom along. I would recommend going with charter

We inadvertently chose a windy and cold day, bit we still got fish in the boat!

we had a great trip. wind played a big role and the capt did a great job putting us in spots where the fish were. would charter again and for a longer period of time next go around
