I fished several times a week for many years and fishing was always my passion in life well before I started guiding. We are blessed with many fishing opportunities here in Louisiana and I have spent a lifetime pursuing all of our inshore species and also the abundant largemouth bass that inhabit south Louisiana.

The tide was low and the wind was high.  The boat was powerful and dependable.  Captain Mike was soooo knowledeable of the swamp and where the different species were feeding.  We caught our limit of nice Red Drum, threw back at lot of Red “Rats”, then went after the black Drum.  Whoooeeee!  they pull like a ton truck.  I fished until exhausted, went back to dock and Mike filleted and cleaned the fish to grill ready perfection.  I plan to return in late October or early November, as suggested by Mike. The big Red males will be biting then.  If they pull harder than the Black Drum, I will need a mechanical hand!
