If you plan on fishing in La Spezia, look no further than Ironfish. Your guide for the day is Captain Francesco, bringing aboard years of knowledge and experience.
Great Barracuda, European Seabass, Mahi Mahi, Atlantic Mackerel, Amberjack, Albacore Tuna, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Bonito, Bluefish, Bluefin Tuna, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the season. For these species, you’re likely to troll using light tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.
Capt. Francesco will bring you aboard a 20’ Wellcraft center console that can carry up to 3 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.
Now, time to hit the water with Ironfish!
