Monster Hunter Charters
, NY 12183, United States
Monster Hunter Charters are dedicated to putting you on the biggest fish possible. This is why they dock at three different locations throughout the year to always be in the best place at the best time to catch a trophy sport fish. Located on the Hudson River during April and May, they are well positioned to catch some of the biggest Striped Bass you can get your hands on, catching them right during their spring migration.
Their vessel, the Monster Hunter, is a 24 ft Thompson Hardtop Fisherman that is meticulously well maintained. The boat is powered by a 260 HP V8 Mercruiser engine and also features a 15 HP Yamaha four stroke kicker motor for trolling. Equipped with Lowrance electronics, Scotty downriggers, and a commercial grade ice chest for your catch, the boat offers you peace of mind that you have the best equipment for the job. There is also plenty of seating on board as well as a camper style toilet (there is also access to a bathroom or porta potty at the dock). The boat’s fully enclosed wheelhouse will also keep you comfortable even in the foulest of weather.
Your trip will involve fishing for Striped Bass with a full line of professional grade Okuma rods and reels, as well as top of the line tackle. The Hudson River is the main Striped Bass spawning ground in New York State, and Monster Hunter Charters are located right where you can almost guarantee hooking a large specimen, just 5 minutes away from the Troy Dam, the end of their 157 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The crew’s cumulative 30 years experience fishing the River means you will be in the best of hands for hooking a ‘monstrously’ large trophy catch.
When they’re not fishing for Striped Bass on Hudson River, Monster Charters are based out of Lako Ontario (June through September), where they target several species of Salmon as well as Lake and Brown Trout, and the Mohawk River (September through November), where they fish for Muskie and Pike.
