Fernandina Beach has a fish with your name, so let Fort George Charter help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Don can tell you all about the local fishery.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Mahi Mahi, Flounder, Scamp Grouper, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blue Marlin, Bull Shark, Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Red Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, and plenty more. During the trip, you might be spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Don can also have you Flounder gigging.
Trips with Fort George Charter are fun for all ages, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You’ll be casting lines from a 36’ Wellcraft center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Don will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Ask and your captain can tell you more.
It’s recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Some drinks will be offered, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Hard liquor is not allowed.
How often would you rather be fishing? Turn that daydream into a reality, with Fort George Charter.
