I've been fishing my whole life, and the Gulf of Mexico for most of that. I became a captain to work in both the recreational and commercial sides of boating. Watching our guests reel in big exciting fish is very rewarding for me. We know you book with trusted professionals in order to increase your chances of having the trip of a lifetime. We work hard to bring you a memorable trip that you will be talking about for years to come.

We believe we would have caught more fish if I had not agreed to two schedule changes by the captain. They also Used some of our time to catch bait. Others did not.  The boat tried hard to catch what we did but we ran out of time.  Only had total of 3.5 hours of 5 scheduled.

Thanks for your review. We tried to schedule the trip the best that would fit everyone’s schedule and for good fishing.  The conditions in Tampa Bay are difficult sometimes in the spring time due to the high winds that often pickup after noon. I’m sure you remember the ride back across the bay was very bumpy. I did not want to wait until it was unbearable for you so I called the trip at the 4 hour mark. Half day trips range from 4 to 5 hours.  Fishing Booker should specify this on the listing.

Catching bait during a fishing trip is common. We try to catch bait before most of our trips, however it was on the way to the fishing spot and bait was plentiful. We did get you on a good snook bite, even though the thick algae grass made things difficult. Many fish were busting around the boat. Several fish were caught, and some were missed. One of the factors in the bite was that there was so much snotty algae grass blooming the live sardines would get swamped and covered.

All in all though a good day of fishing. Thanks for choosing us to take you.

Brent, we were so pumped about the great shark action on your trip. They are real fighters!. Get back down soon and let’s hope the wind dies down! Spring time in Tampa is breeeeezy!

The fishing and crew were excellent. The crew made it a point to be helpful, courteous and professional. The Captain found a good spot to fish and hooked us up (pun intended). While my son and I were catching fish the Captain and mate were casting and handing us reels ready to be reeled in. We could not catch fast enough. The most important part is the captain and mate made sure we had fun. Will do again.

Late spring fishing has been phenomenal, here are just a few pictures of our recent catches. We have been using live sardines to fish the mangrove shorelines, and have had great success with blue runner chunks when bottom dropping… Read Full Report →
