The Azores is one of the best places in the world for big game fishing, and it is one of the only places on the planet where you can have a good chance of catching Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Spearfish, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Mako Shark, Swordfish, Wahoo and Mahi Mahi all in one trip. However, the rich and beautiful waters that surround the Azores are a pleasure to enjoy from a boat, whether or not you a travelling with a rod in your hand.
Azorsea Adventures are located on the stunningly beautiful São Miguel island, which is known locally as the ‘Green Island’, at Vila Franca do Campo on the island’s south coast. They run deep sea fishing trips all year round, although their peak season runs in the Spring and Summer.
Azorsea Adventures use a variety of techniques on their fishing trips, ranging from bottom fishing to trolling for big game. Bottom fishing involves anchoring the boat in waters between 100 and 450 ft deep and targeting species such as Common Seabream, Guelly jack, Offshore Rockfish, White Seabream, Chub Mackerel, Dusky Grouper and Largescaled Scorpionfish. They also offer jigging and popping, which can also be an enjoyable way of catching a variety of species.
If you are not a big fan of fishing or want a more relaxing trip or cruise, simply let the personable crew show you the best swimming and snorkeling spots in the area, as you watch dolphins, turtles, and sometimes even whales, frolic in the waters alongside the boat.
