The fish in these waters include Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Hamour Grouper, African Pompano Jack, Swordfish, Sailfish, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Longtail Tuna, and more with any luck. During the trip you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Trips with Capt. Mako Charters are kid-friendly, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks – luckily, Capt. Capt. Ahmed will have some on board!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 38’ Ocean Master 38 sportfishing vessel with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. What’s more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It’s recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is not allowed according to the local rules and regulation’s. There some light snacks provided on board.
