Book your next trip with Fishing and Nature and find out what keeps anglers coming back to Old Saybrook for more.
Around here it's common to catch Striped Bass, Black Seabass, Scup (Porgy), Bluefish, Tautog, Flounder, Bluefin Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Catfish, Thresher Shark, and more, depending on when you go. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Reese can also have you kite fishing.
Fishing and Nature is a child-friendly charter service, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your adventure begins aboard a 38' Viking sportfishing that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's always wise to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Bottled waters are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
