If you’re looking for a friendly, knowledgeable captain to take you fishing on the Pacific Emerald Coast in Nicaragua, Captain Alvaro Sandino is your guy. With his boat ‘Weekend’, he will take you to the spots where the bite is strong and the scenery is magnificent.
Capt. Alvaro can go as far as 12 miles from the shore to put you on the fish efficiently. You can look forward to reeling in A-listers like Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Hogfish, lobsters, octopus, and even the big boys like Blue Marlin and Sailfish. Whether you’re just beginning your fishing adventures, or you’re a seasoned angler, exciting times lie ahead as you try to hook the catch of your life.
But before you cast your line, you need a stable fishing platform that will also be a safe ride to the fishy hideouts. Your guide runs a 31’ Bertram that’s been restored in 2018 and accommodates up to 12 persons that can fish at the same time. The vessel is powered by twin 300 HP Suzuki engines that allow her to be fast and run smoothly. She sports a private toilet for your comfort and has all the fishing equipment you could ask for.
This includes fighting chairs, rods and reels, live bait, and lures, which means you don’t have to bring anything with you, simply show up. If you’re in the mood to give spearfishing a try, Capt. Alvaro has the necessary equipment, just tell him you’d like to do it. After a long day of angling, ask your guide to take a dip and do some snorkeling to explore the vibrant marine life, he’ll provide the snorkeling equipment as well.
Snacks and drinks are available on board, all you have to take care of is bringing good company and enjoying yourself. Kids will have a lot of fun on these expeditions, especially because they get a chance to catch and hold their first fish.
