If you're going to cast a line in St. Marks, look no further than Cardinal Rose Charter Services. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Matthew can tell you all about the local fishery.
Black Drum, Bluefish, Cobia, Flounder, Jack Crevalle, Redfish, Black Seabass, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Trout, and more could be biting, depending on conditions. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Matthew also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Don't forget to bring snacks – luckily, Capt. Matthew will have some on board!
Your boat for the day is a 22' AquaSport 222 bay boat with room for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks available on board.
Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Cardinal Rose Charter Services.
