Trip Summary

It was great to have Mike, Laura & Nick fish aboard GOOD DAY this week. Day 1 we headed offshore in search of Billfish and the day got off to an excellent start when both Mike & Nick had caught their first ever Sailfish within the first 90 mins of the day. We raised another Sailfish that would not bite but the bite slowed after that and we ended day 1 on 2 Sailfish releases. A pretty slow day but a successful one all the same! Day 2 the guys wanted to try the Inshore fishing Costa Rica is famous for and had Roosterfish as their main target! The day started slowly with just a couple of missed bites during the first few hours. We fished the Naranjo rocks & Savegre rivermouth right at Low tide which is perfect for Snook but the fish did not play along. 90 minutes into the flood tide whilst back at Naranjo someone flicked a switch & the bite turned on. We had non stop action for the next couple of hours with bent rods & smiling faces. Mike & Nick caught: 1 Roosterfish 9 Jacks 2 nice Mackerel 1 Needlefish We had lots more missed bites and some nice surface takes on top water lures. A great end to two nice days fishing in quepos.
