You will be fishing aboard a 24 ft Carolina skiff that is known for its versatility and ability to fish shallow water and nearshore areas with ease. With a wide platform at the front of the boat, there is plenty of room to cast towards your target fish, while the open seating area allows you plenty of room to move around. The boat features a Minn Kota trolling motor as well as an anchoring system for top level inshore fishing.

Captain Jim is a very experienced Captain who has been fishing the local area and beyond his whole life. He specializes in both fly fishing and conventional fishing with light tackle, and primarily targets Redfish, Jack Crevalle, Tarpon, Snapper, and Groupers.

As well as being an extremely knowledgeable fisherman, Captain Jim is also a certified Florida Master Naturalist, meaning he has in-depth knowledge of the eco systems in the whole of Florida. Captain Jim is a native guide from Marco Island who has been a licensed captain since 1986, and has been guiding in the Marco Island area for the last ten years. He has fished all over the world, fly fishing and offshore fishing in Michigan, as well as fishing in Belize, the Amazon, the Florida Keys and California. He enjoys taking people fly fishing or light tackle conventional fishing in the local backwaters and, having been an Orvis-endorsed guide in the Au Sabo river, Michigan, is well versed in both techniques. As well as being extremely knowledgeable about fishing techniques, Captain Jim is also a Florida Master Naturalist, meaning he has in-depth knowledge of the varied and fascinating ecosystem of Marco Island and beyond.
