If you're here to make the most of fishing in Pensacola, look no further than Spiked Sportfishing Charters. Your guide for the day is Captain James, which means you'll tap into years of knowledge and experience.
Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Mangrove Snapper, Redfish, King Mackerel (Kingfish), and more can be found in these waters if you come at the right time of year. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Capt. James will bring you aboard a 25' Parker pilothouse with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's always wise to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Half Day Trip on July 8, 2026 • 5 adults • 1 childWe brought our two teenage boys and 10 year old girl and had a blast! The boat ride out to the Gulf was relaxing and when we got to several spots the fish were biting as soon as we cast our line. We only caught three keepers but still had a great time! The local popular dolphin (half fin) gave us a visit and swam around right next to the boat for about an hour, which was amazing for the kids especially! The Cap and crew are very respectful and down to earth and very helpful. There were no issues with the boat, and all the gear was up to par! Im very glad we decided to do this!

You can tell they genuinely care about their customers having a great experience. James and Evan were an awesome team, and even better people. We had a great time and really appreciate everything they did to get us out and make the trip happen. Highly recommend Spiked Sportfishing!

Throughout the trip we caught mahi mahi, bonito, Spanish mackerel, snapper, and triggerfish, so there was plenty of action all day. The seas were pretty rough on the ride out, but the 25ft Parker handled the waves really well. They worked hard to keep us on fish and even gave us an extra hour on the house, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a fun trip, we caught a variety of fish, and the captain made sure everyone had a good time. We would definitely book with them again.
