Around here the fishing is popular for Striped Bass, Atlantic Mackerel, Lobster, Cod, Haddock, Pollock, Blue Shark, Thresher Shark, Porbeagle Shark, Mako Shark, Bluefin Tuna, Black Seabass, and more with any luck. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Children are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!

Your excursion begins aboard a Phoenix 29 Sportfish with room for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Chris has rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

I booked a lobstering trip with Captain Chris for myself and family. His boat was pristine & had a great set up to enjoy the scenery. We were able to pull 5 traps, and caught 2 lobsters, a few crabs, and a massive snail! Captain was AMAZING with our young boys, and taught us a lot about the industry, a bit of history of the area, and a had a great BBQ recommendation (Wilson’s BBQ)! His price was extremely fair, and I was able to pay the balance via Venmo (we gave a cash tip). We loved our experience and highly recommend!

Lobster!... Not a fishing trip

Nothing short of AWESOME describes our lobster trap fishing trip! Capt. Chris was above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable as well as explaining his high safety standards. He was incredibly knowledgeable and let us do as much or as little as we wanted. We caught 3 but only 1 was a keeper... and it was yummy! The boat was clean and in 'ship shape'. Nice, clean chairs and above average interior, for a fishing boat. If ever again, we would only call on Lucy B Charters. Barry & Dee Yorktown, VA

Captain Chris was accommodating and friendly from the get go. He went above and beyond to meet us at a closer location to save us drive time. My son has a lot of energy and asks a bare minimum of 6,000 questions an hour. Chris was kind and took the time to explain everything to him with patience. We were able to catch some mackerel and the kids had a blast. The boat was comfortable and included a good bathroom. Do yourself a favor and book with Lucy B Charters.

Great 1st time out ocean fishing!

Captain Chris was fantastic with our two young boys (one being very nervous and scared about being out on a boat!) and he explained everything to do. Fishing anywhere is never a guarantee, but we started catching fish as soon as we dropped a line in the water! This was a trip our boys will talk about for a long time (hopefully even when they are grown!) and we are excited to come back for other fishing trips next year! We had an incredible time on the 2-hour lobster excursion aboard the Lucy B with Captain Chris! From the moment we stepped on the boat, Captain Chris made us feel welcome with his easygoing personality and clear passion for what he does. He was incredibly knowledgeable about lobster trapping—both on a commercial scale and for hobbyists—and explained the entire process in a way that kept all three of our teenage boys engaged. The boat was spotless and well-organized, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Captain Chris’s positive energy and genuine love for his work made the experience even more enjoyable. We all walked away learning something new and having a great time on the water. Highly recommend this excursion—it was a highlight of our trip!
