Great Barracuda, Goliath Grouper, Black Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Yellowfin Grouper, and more can be found in these waters, depending on the time of year. You can expect to do some spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Children are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 26' custom fishing boat that holds up to 5 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's always wise to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.

Cant say enough great things about this trip. Captain Nelson and his team were pros frim
the start. Clear communication after booking. Great day on the water. Great boat and equipment. Cap had a cooler with cold drinks and fresh fruit to snack on. Slso had snorkeling gear which we opted to fidh the whole time, but iscan option. Cap is also an experienced diver if that's your thing. Super knowledgeable about not only fishing but the Mayan history as well. Gave great info on the ruins and what they meant from a sailor's POV once upon a time. Great catch out on the water with Fish hitting in the first 15 minutes. Missed a few pics but this trip was a blast! This was our 5th charter (different parts of Mexico) but next time we're in Tulum, we will absolutely be re-booking with Captain Nelson and his crew. You should too! Slso a great Charter for kiddos who are just learning.

An Amazing Day

Nelson and his son Raphael created an amazing day for our family. We caught three fish, a tuna, a mackeral, and a barracuda! The fish were not biting too much but they tried very hard to get us plenty of opportunities! Then we got to see the Tulum Ruins from the water for a fun photo op with our catch. And finally, and perhaps my favourite part, they took us out to snorkel with the sea turtles!! We saw two turtles and two sting ray and lots of reef fish too!! It was a perfect day for our little family!! While my husband can speak Spanish, my daughter and I don't, so Nelson's ability to speak English made the trip even more engaging for my daughter and I! We are a very happy family after this fun adventure! Muchas Gracias to Nelson and Raphael!! We highly recommend this trip to anyone!!

Amazing morning of fishing with this crew! If your are contemplating booking a trip with them 100% do. My family and I went, and this family run charter was very welcoming (for us the father and his son were our captains). They were very helpful and friendly the entire and put us on some giant and consistent fish, not even 5 mins into the trip we hooked and landed a trophy barracuda! In all we had an amazing experience, would highly recommend this captain and his boat!

The captain and crew were very friendly and accommodating. We caught a mackerel and a barracuda while trolling. Then we stopped and did some bottom fishing and caught a number of Yellowtail Snappers and a large trigger fish that we released. All in all had a great time with this boat and crew. Highly recommended!

all the fellas on the boat are very knowledgeable on the equipment and the waters they are fishing. we had action all day betwen spanish mackeral, amber jack, barracuda and a wahoo! caught over a dozen fish and had a wonderful ceviche lunch with fresh spanish mackeral. Nelson is a great captain whos been on the Talum waters his entire life id recommend to anyone looking to get out on the water at a fair price with experienced fellas.
