Galveston has a fish with your name on it, so let Galveston Fish Commander help you catch it! Your guide for the day is Captain Shawn, which means you'll tap into years of local experience.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Speckled Trout, Redfish, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Tripletail, Tarpon, Flounder, Blacktip Shark, and anything else that bites. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, popping, drifting, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families making of a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll step aboard a 25' Haynie center console with room for 5 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now's the time to experience fishing in Galveston for yourself, with Galveston Fish Commander!
