Welcome to Central Charters in Homer Alaska, we are family owned since 1982. We offer 3/4 day & Full day fishing, Wildlife Tours, Beach Front Lodging and Bear viewing!
The Crusader is Central Charters' newest vessel. Custom built by Raider Boats in Washington, it is 32' long 9.5' wide with twin Yamaha 300 outboards. Inside the comfortable heated cabin is ample seating for 6 passengers with large windows for easy viewing of the great scenery. There is a private restroom on board that is accessed from the back deck. The Crusader is outfitted with a large berth for sleeping, top of the line fishing gear, state of the art electronics and navigation equipment for finding those secret spots where all the fish hide. Your trip on the Crusader will be one you'll never forget!
No experience necessary! Our Captain will help you with every aspect of catching fish and having a blast at the same time! Since there is a maximum of 6 clients there is lots of one on one time between yourself and the captain.
The minimum age allowed for the safety of everyone on board is 8 years old. If you have a family with members younger than 8 please call us to talk about booking a private charter for just your group. By booking a private boat the age limit is more flexible.
All the fishing gear, bait & filleting is provided. All you need to bring is your fishing license, food & drink, and rain gear if you have it.
Homer Fish Processing can vacuum seal and freeze your fish after we have filleted it. They can also package it to take back on the plane with you or they can ship it to you after you have arrived home.
To purchase your fishing license visit the ADFG website. After purchasing your license you can print a hard copy or keep a PDF document on your phone. Alaska residents under 18 and non-residents under 16 do not need a fishing license.

3/4 Day - Halibut Fishing on August 19, 2026 • 1 adultColby was the best. I lost count as to how many Halibut we caught. There were 6 of us and we could only keep 1 per person and Colby wouldn't rest until we all had nice approx 20 pounders. I was so tired of reeling in fish I had to quit. From first 10 minutes I don't believe we had a lull of more than 5 minutes and at times we had 3 fish on at the same time. For a period of a couple of hours we had fish on with virtually no break. Colby was the consummate guide. No wasted motion and hooks were rebaited within seconds and back in the water. We were all exhausted and happy at the end of the day.

Captain was great and I was amazed how methodical, tidy, and efficient he was in all his moves to keep everyone on fish. Quick to deal with tangles, splice lines, and bait hooks!! He even had to deal with one passenger that was annoying/disrespectful (and he dealt with this in a professional way!!). Would use this charter company anytime again.

3/4 Day - Halibut Fishing on June 27, 2026 • 2 adultsThe day was unpredictable with the swell reports. We met captain Colby at the office. He said it was going to be an in and out trip with the conditions presented. We took an an hour boat ride to the Halibut grounds. Had our limits within an Hour. My wife and I felt very safe with captain Colby. He is very knowledgeable and a wonderful person. Definitely recommend captain Colby!

Half Day Trip – Halibut Fishing on June 23, 2025 • 2 adultsToday the sea was not in our favor but our Captain stayed focused and took us to the fishing grounds he intended to fish. The Captain explained everything in detail from safety to the operation of the poles. We fished our first area for roughly an hour then moved to the honeyhole. Once there it didn't take long for everyone to hit their limit. The Captain was very attentive and jumped right in as needed or wanted. Overall my Wife and I had a great time and will someday do this again.

Colby was a great captain that worked hard, a pleasure to spend time with and a great, humorous, but enjoyable personality. As a true fisherman usually does, he will pull your leg quite a few times during the day. I told Colby that might have been the best birthday I’ve ever had. I turned 65 on July 18th .

Full Day – Halibut Fishing on July 29, 2025 • 1 adultWhat a wonderful trip. We caught lots of fish including Halibut weighing 100pounds. The captain-Colby Kaczor-was amazing. He was attentive but not overbearing and was able to help with getting the big ones (and small ones) in the boat with great expertise. He was also very personable and made me feel at ease.

I was almost ready to stop going on guided fishing trips cause I never caught fish. i was pleasantly suprised when I caught my limit of halibut half way into this trip! captain was great

Capt. Colby was exceptional!! He was knowledgeable, punctual and courteous. Explained everything in great detail. He kept the boat clean throughout the trip. He had us on fish all the time. No time to rest. We were always baited up and weights down. A great trip to remember! Book with confidence.
