I believe 90% of the experience, is within the guide. My job as a guide is to instruct. My passion is to teach. Nothing brings me greater joy than being able to share what I love with others. As a guide, there are a lot of variables, many things we cannot control - the weather, tides, availability of bait. But the few things I can, are the ones that really matter. I love people, dogs, kids, and fish. Not necessarily in that order. Talk to anyone that knows me, and your likely to find that I am very easy to get along with. I grew up in a small town, so naturally I do have the Southern Charm/Hospitality. I DID NOT take Rosetta Stone Southern Edition. Yes. I do talk funny. I grew up in a rural town in Kentucky with 3000 people, on the banks of the Cumberland River. Have been fishing since I could walk. My first experience on an airplane took me (and dropped me) for 4 months in the Alaskan bush, where i worked as a fly fishing guide. I spent 3 1/2 years in the Everglades as a guide.

Great day of fishing. We set out for Goliath Grouper and Shark but weren’t able to get them this time. We caught a few sheepshead, grouper and snook but most weren’t keepers.

Had a great time. Josua is a pleasant and attentive young captain. He took us to half a dozen fishing sites. We caught about 30 fish. Highly recommended.

Thank you for the kind review Alex. I had spoke to several captains on Christmas day who had also struggled to find a solid bite. It makes me feel good that you took the time to write a nice review even on what I consider a tough day of fishing. I hope you and Tonya enjoy your stay, have a prosperous new year, and if i can accommodate in any way with your transition to Florida feel free to contact me. Best Wishes

Christmas Rush

December 26, 2016

Avoiding high traffic areas and finding clean, moving water has been the key to locating fish in and around estero bay. We have primarily been targeting seatrout, pompano and sheephead. The nearshore wrecks have been hit or miss but… Read Full Report →
