Southern Outdoor Sportsmen

5110 W Gandy Blvd
Tampa FL, United States

Capt. Sean Signore owns and operates Southern Outdoor Sportsmen out of New Port Richey FL. He specializes in light tackle and fly fishing, as well as bottom fishing, mainly targeting some of the most sought-after game fish along the flats of Tampa Bay and St. Joseph’s Sound, including Trout, Snook and Redfish.

You’ll be fishing on a 24 ft. long vessel, which can accommodate groups of up to 4 fishermen per trip. The boat is outfitted with a conventional range of navigational technology and fish finding equipment, including GPS, Fishfinder and radio. We mostly fish Tampa Bay but make runs to St. Joseph’s Sound if the fishing is better or if it is more convenient for the customer. Southern Outdoor Sportsmen offers Alligator and Duck hunts as well when they are in season. We offer military discounts to all of the American heroes out there.

All the appropriate fishing equipment for your inshore trip is supplied by Captain Signore, complete with artificial and live bait. Bottled water is also provided for your enjoyment. Guests of the Southern Outdoor Sportsmen are free to keep the fish they catch (as long as it fits the legal requirements regarding size and bag limits), and will have their catch cleaned and filleted by Capt.Sean following the trip.

We look forward to serving you, having a great time catching fish and making lasting memories.

I've been fishing my entire life. I am now 45 years old. I have fished for bass and catfish all over the north and south. I have fished for salmon and trout in the north. I moved to Florida to become a saltwater fisherman. It doesn't take you long to pick up on flats fishing if you know how to catch bass. Most flats fishing comes down to learning the tides and terrain of the areas you fish as well as what baits the fish are biting that day.

Great day despite fish finder malfunction. Outstanding boat and knowledgable captain. Memorable up close and prolonged encounter with a very friendly dolphin.

Went fishing 3-23-16 with Sean.  Had a fun day fishing.  He worked hard, arrived early, and was a great teacher.  We probably caught 20 snook but the highlight came at the end of the day when he put my son on a Jack Crevalle.  The fish went on many runs and took my son around the boat twice fighting it.

As we rank our weeks activities on vacation fishing with Sean ranks number 1.  So when we come back down we will be going back out with him again.

Craig, I’m glad you guys had fun. A great review too. I look forward to the next one and I hope you guys can come back when the water is warmer for some much larger and more willing fish. Until next time my friend.
