Pete Rich Guide Service

Hall Of Fame Drive
Hayward WI, United States

Pete Rich Guide Service is based out of Hayward, Wisconsin. Pete provides full and half day guided fishing trips on Chippewa Flowage and other Hayward Lakes, targeting the mighty and hard-fighting Musky and Northern Pike, as well as Walleye, Bass, and Panfish.

Pete Rich runs trips on his 18’ Ranger 618 boat, which is powered by a 115HP Mercury outboard motor and can accommodate up to two anglers. It comes equipped with Lowrance navigational equipment, a wireless trolling motor, and an ice box. Fishing gear includes 8′ to 9′ Chaos Rods and Custom X, with St. Croix, Abu Garcia, and Shimano reels, as well as all tackle and live bait rigs (quick strike rigs).

Pete Rich Guide Service will not only help you catch your own freshwater monster, but they will also teach you how to consistently put more fish in your boat. Pete will take you through key strategies, such as how to identify productive fishing spots, the most effective presentation techniques, and how best to trigger ‘the fish of a thousand casts’ into striking. Pete is constantly trying new techniques, which means that he is consistently able to catch Muskies and many more species in varying conditions.

Trips include all the tackle and equipment you will need on your trip, so the only things you’ll need are proper seasonal clothing, a current fishing license, and drinks and snacks. If you wish, you can also bring your own rod and reels, as well as a small Plano box of your own lures.

About the Captain

Pete Rich
Hayward, Wisconsin, United States
Member since April 2016
Captain Pete Rich grew up in Northern Illinois, and began fishing for Bass, Panfish and Walleye in his home state, and at his Grandparents’ cabin in Northern Wisconsin. At first, he couldn’t understand how anglers could spend all day fishing for Musky to only catch one fish at the end of the day - until he took a trip to Lac Seul in Northwest Ontario with his dad. There, he caught his first Musky and was instantly hooked, and so, a passion developed like one he had never experienced before. He moved to the Hayward area when he got the opportunity to work at the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame: a move he believes was the best decision of his life. Capt. Pete loves the thrill of targeting a top lake predator and trying to convince it to eat an artificial lure, and has spent much time trying different techniques to hook these beasts. He looks forward to welcoming you aboard his boat and teaching you everything he knows.
