If you're going to cast a line in South Portland, look no further than Pine State Guide Service. With Captain Patrick at the helm, you'll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Cod, Haddock, Pollock, Atlantic Mackerel, Striped Bass, and more with any luck. You can expect to do some spinning, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Patrick also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Young ones are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
You'll step aboard a 30' Parker sportfishing vessel with capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Patrick has rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't leave home without a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain knows the area very well and was able to reccomend places to eat and visit while on our trip. My girlfiend and I had the best time. He took us to his top secret fishing hole and the reels were spinning! Bagged a few stripers. Throughout fishing, we had some time to explore the coast and Pat showed us all the historical remains along with stories.

Absolutely great guy, great captain and knows the water, where to go and when to move. Our 10 year old didn’t get bored and our teenager stayed engaged and off his phone!
