I’m Blake Maddox, founder and owner of 1st Choice Charters. I came to Destin in 2020 and quickly fell in love with the water, the lifestyle, and the opportunity to turn my passion for the ocean into a full-service charter company. Whether its inshore or offshore we’re here to give you an unforgettable day on the Gulf.

Our team is made up of experienced locals who know these waters better than anyone. One of those trusted captains is Captain Magnum Owens a Destin native who’s been in the charter fleet for over five years. With his deep local knowledge and dedication to a great experience, you’re in excellent hands from start to finish.

These waters are known for Redfish, Mangrove Snapper, Dolphin fish (Mahi Mahi), Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Black Grouper, Gray Triggerfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, and more – with any luck, you'll have tight lines in no time.

On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish.

You'll be dropping lines from a 25' Center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board of the 25' for your convenience.

Rods and reels are included!

It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
