Bite Me 1 is a 40’ Uniflite boat that features a pair of new 450 HP Cummins engines that drive it up to a top speed of 30 knots. Relax in comfort in between bites inside the covered cabin, or scan the surrounding seas aboard the shaded flybridge. With a clean bathroom on board, this is also a boat you can easily bring your family aboard!
Your trip will start at the Honokohau Harbor, a bustling marina located on the West of Kailua Kona. This is just a short boat ride from the world-famous “Grander alley,” a place where records have been made and lines have been broken thanks to Hawaii’s enormous fishery.
With local species including Mahi Mahi, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and Spearfish, this is without a doubt one of the best sport fisheries on the planet. The crew has been fishing these waters for many years and will not only make sure you catch fish, but they will also make sure you enjoy it.
Your main fishing technique will be trolling with artificial lures, a technique that has been honed in these very waters. You will be fishing with Penn International reels. In case you would like to try some light tackle fun, Shimano TLD Graphite reels will also be available, as well as custom-designed Melton International rods. A Murray Brothers fighting chair and Rupp outriggers complete the picture – this is sportfishing at its best.
