Let Johnny Exotic make it unforgettable. With over 15 years on the water, Captain John knows this lake system like the back of his hand—and he’s ready to put you on the fish!
The main star of the show? Peacock Bass—vibrant, aggressive, and an absolute blast to catch. But that’s not all. Depending on the time of year, you might also hook into Clown Knife Fish, Hybrid Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass, and more. You’ll be using light spinning gear that makes every fight exciting.
Step aboard a sleek 18’ Maverick flats boat, built for up to 3 passengers. It’s fully outfitted with everything you need—rods, reels, and tackle. About 95% of the time, live bait is included. If it’s not available to catch, no worries—we’ll pick some up ahead of time. Just check in with the captain before your trip.
What to Bring:
• A valid Florida freshwater fishing license (ages 16–64)
• Sunscreen (no sprays, please—apply before boarding)
• Sunglasses, a hat, and rain gear if the forecast calls for it
• Hydrating drinks (we’ll have bottled water, but electrolytes go a long way in the summer heat)
• Snacks and moderate alcohol are welcome—just skip the hard liquor and glass bottles

Awesome fishing trip with Johnny Exotic
3 Hour Trip – Peacock Bass on July 24, 2025 • 2 adults
My son and I went on the 3 hour trip today with Captain John. We were very happy with the experience. We caught a lot of peacock bass and I also caught a clown. Captain John was great, had patience, and is very knowledgeable about the fish and waterways. The boat ride was smooth and everything went perfectly as planned. We were very pleased with our trip. We recommend 3 or 4 hour trips because the time goes by really fast, We highly recommend booking a trip with Johnny Exotic!

Captain Johnny stayed on track to catch peacock bass. We brought tackle, but honestly, we didn’t need to. He had everything we needed to catch Peacock bass for the day. We caught 30+ fish on a day that was supposed to be tough fishing. We will book with Captain Johnny again.

I have chartered Captain Johnny many times, and have also brought out of town family to fish with him so they can get the full Florida experience. He has us on the fish nonstop! I’ve tried other guides and we may catch a fish or two, but Captain Johnny makes it fun, is super knowledgeable about the fishery, and knows where to find the fish every time. I also brought my 4 year old cousin for his first time fishing and Captain Johnny was very patient with him and helped him reel in his first fish! I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone looking to catch any of Florida’s exotic fish.
