Fishing in Orlando
Fishing in Orlando
, FL 32754, United States
Many visitors arrive in Orlando, Florida, exclusively to visit the Disney World theme parks, barely aware of the fact that some of the best inshore fishing in the world is just around the corner. Located just 15 minutes from Orlando city is the Mosquito Lagoon, a unique saltwater estuary that houses manatees, dolphins, many species of birds and, of course, plenty of great tasting and hard fighting game fish. Captain Mark has been guiding these waters for over twenty years, and has extensive experience of helping novice anglers and keen fishermen alike catch their dream Redfish, Trout, Snook, Tarpon, Cobia, or Shark.
Captain Mark fishes aboard a 19 ft Sterling flats boat that is powered by a 115 HP 4 stroke Yamaha engine. This fast-travelling vessel features a Minn Kota trolling motor to allow you a stealthy approach towards your target fish, and has an anchoring system to keep you in position. With a poling platform as well as a front casting platform, this is an excellent boat for sight fishing, which is one of Captain Mark’s favorite, and most effective, techniques in the Mosquito Lagoon.
Fishing in Orlando gives anglers of all ability levels the chance to catch fish. Beginners can try their hand at catching Redfish and Snook with bait, while more experienced anglers will appreciate the chance to experience what it feels like to have a leaping and bounding Tarpon on the end of the line. Children are especially welcome on board: Captain Mark has plenty of experience taking young anglers out onto the Lagoon thanks to the fact that his own five year old son is an avid fan of catching Redfish with his Dad.
All the necessary licensing and equipment is provided by the captain - all you need to bring is snacks and drinks, a camera, and polarized sunglasses for the best sight fishing opportunities.
