Bateleur Fishing Charters runs a selection of water-based activities along the coast of South Africa and beyond, fishing across a range of habitats as well as making the most of the area’s unique nature. From inshore and reef trips on False Bay to offshore adventures targeting huge Tuna, Marlin, Mahi Mahi and more on the high seas, as well as hitting Cape Point to fish for some feisty Yellowtail and Snoek, Smart Fishing Charters has the perfect trip for you!
You will be fishing aboard the “Bateleur”, a 30 ft Butt Cat sportfisherman which can carry up to 8 passengers in safety and comfort at to 32 knots. The Bateleur offers a rock-steady fishing platform thanks to her twin-hull design, and comes equipped with everything you will need for the perfect fishing trip. High-tech electronics help pinpoint the best fishing spots, outriggers give you the best spread in the water, and tournament-grade tackle affords you the upper hand in even the toughest of big game battles.
Bateleur Fishing Charters specialises in targeting the huge Tuna that live in the deep blue waters offshore. Bluefin, Yellowfin, Longtail and more are on the cards when heading offshore, as well as big game favourites such as Marlin and Mahi Mahi. On inshore and nearshore trips you will still see more than your fair share of action, however, with a wide variety of table and game species found nearby.
If you’re not so crazy about fishing, spend the morning seeing wild African Penguins and Cape Fur Seals, with the added chance of spotting the ultimate apex predator - the Great White Shark. If you have more time, you can combine fishing with nature touring, heading offshore to see majestic seabirds like Albatrosses, and even fishing alongside them!
All Bateleur Fishing Charters trips come with tackle, lures and bait when available, and when you get back to the dock all your catch will be cleaned and filleted for you, ready to take home and enjoy - you will definitely have worked up an appetite!
