Owned and operated by a family that is crazy for being on the water, Greenboat Sportfishing is giving you the chance to explore the waters around Rio de Janiero aboard their beautiful Brasilian Sportfishing vessel, the Greenboat.

The Greenboat is a 41 ft Cabrasmar vessel that was built by one of Brasil’s top manufacturers of sportfishing boats. Powered by twin Volvo D6 engines, it makes light work of travelling offshore for Billfish, and also gives a smooth and enjoyable ride around the iconic city’s nearshore waterways. Fully equipped for both sportfishing and relaxing, the Greenboat will make your nautical dreams come true in Rio.

The IGFA record books speak of a legendary Blue Marlin caught just a couple of hundred miles down the coast from the Greenboat’s mooring. This was the largest Blue Marlin ever caught on rod and reel, weighing in at over 1400 pounds, and she came from the same waters that you will be fishing aboard the Greenboat. Equipped with a Pompanette fighting chair and fully rigged with Shimano gear, perhaps this boat will give you the opportunity to come close to your very own monster Billfish.

Greenboat Sportfishing also run speacilzed bottom fishing trips, as well as liveaboard trips to the offshore oil platforms, where you can practise jigging and popping for huge Tuna, as well as Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Mahi Mahi.

Greenboat Sportfishing is not all about fishing, however. If you would rather spend a day on the water simply soaking in the unmatched beauty of Rio de Janiero’s coastline away from the city’s bustling crowds, they also offer a cruising trip that takes in the sights of the city from the water as well as visiting the nearby islands. Here they will prepare a Brazilian barbeque in remote surroundings, supplying meat and fresh mussels to make your trip unforgettable.

Whatever you want to get out of your time on the water in Brazil, Greenboat Sportfishing will make your trip unforgettable.

The Greenmans are a family that is crazy for fishing! They love being at sea and enjoy showing people the thrill of being on a boat in Brazil, whether it is to cruise around the islands of Rio de Janiero, to tackle Billfish offshore or to try jigging and popping for Tuna at the oil platforms further down the coast. As well as running a charter service, they also regularly compete successfully at international fishing tournaments, including the IGFA Offshore World Championships in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 2011, and the Rio de Janiero Marlin Tournament.
