Tampa Bay Angling Company

Gandy Boulevard
St Petersburg FL, United States

As far as fishing and wildlife are concerned, the Tampa and Sarasota areas have it all: anyone who has fished the area will agree that nothing beats the thrill of sight fishing the flats or casting at pods of Tarpon off the beaches. Captain Adam Mailliez of Tampa Bay Angling Company gives you the opportunity to explore vast grass flats and backcountry packed full of Redfish, Snook, and Trout, while basking in the untouched beauty of the local bays and flats.

You will spend your day being polled around in a stable and comfortable 18 ft Andros backcountry skiff while casting at laid up Redfish and Snook. Or, depending on the time of the year, you could be casting at schools of up to 100 Redfish on the flats. During the summer months, most trips will be spent chasing the prestigious ‘Silver King‘ off any of the local beaches. This is the time of year when the Tarpon migration passes through town, and whole days can be spent casting to single Tarpon or groups of up to 20+ fish daisy chaining. This sight in the clear shallow waters of Tampa Bay and Sarasota will make even the most experienced anglers’ knees shake - it is incredible and the fish are abundant.

For those who want to beat the heat of the day, Tampa Bay Angling Company offer dock light fishing trips all through the summer. These trips are a sensory overload. The fish are abundant, and seeing all the fish piled up on the lights chasing bait is an amazing sight. The fish come to the lights to feed so we will be there waiting to feed them. If you have never fished dock lights before, Captain Adam strongly suggests you try it this summer!

Had a great day fishing! Capt. Adam was able to get me on the fish. I used his gear, it worked perfectly, and I was able to bring in several red fish and even hooked a snook!  Great day on the water!

Had Capt. Adam Mailliez take me out looking for redfish and a possible tarpon. Wanted to see if I could get a redfish on fly so in the morning we went out and he poled me around the flats. Had plenty of opportunities and got to cast at a lot of fish. I have to take the blame for not connecting though. As my inexperience showed.  So we switched gears and moved to spin tackle. That’s when things got good. We hit some spots he said that he knew would have fish and he was right. Caught several slot fish and a 27 in redfish my personal best. Then he said he knew of a place to get a chance at a tarpon. Well a chance turned into my first tarpon. Not only my first but I got it on fly. Have to say capt. Adam Maillez knows what he’s doing and is a blast to fish with. Would go fishing with him again.
