Crocodile Bay Resort & Sportfishing are located in Puerto Jiménez, Costa Rica. Here you will find one of the highest concentrations of Sailfish in the world, due to an abundance of bait fish entering the flat ocean waters. Join the highly professional fishing team for some thrilling inshore and offshore fishing charters that are well suited to all skill levels.
Your day will be spent aboard a 33’ Strike boat, which is designed to accommodate up to six anglers. It features a wide beam with plenty of deck space, including a cover to protect you from the bright sunshine, as well as a covered tower to give even more visibility of the action below. The boat is powered by a 470HP Cummins engine, and comes equipped with GPS, fishfinder, VHF radio, fighting chair (on request), outriggers, and live bait tank, as well as an on board toilet for your comfort.
The Crocodile Bay sportfishing team specialize in a range of techniques, including fishing with live bait, trolling, casting and fly fishing, and will be on hand to guide you throughout the day. Their boat is equipped with high-quality Penn International 50’s and 30’s, as well as Penn spinning and conventional gear in 20 and 30 pound outfits. They also use Temple Fork fly fishing gear, but guests are welcome to bring their own if preferred.
Join the crew on a full day charter in search of exciting offshore species such as Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, and Wahoo, or inshore species including Roosterfish, Snapper, Broomtail and Goliath Grouper, Snook, Barracuda, Mackerel, and other. Please note that the Crocodile Bay team practice catch and release for all Billfish and Roosterfish. Rods, reels and tackle are provided on all trips, including fly fishing gear upon request. The crew will also supply live bait, lures, fishing licenses, snacks, drinks and lunch, and can clean and fillet your catch at the end of the day.
