Dorado Jim’s Fishing Charters

Riverside Drive East
Bradenton FL, United States

Fish the inland and coastal waters of Manatee and Sarasota Counties with Dorado Jim. Offering top level inshore fishing charters, Dorado Jim will not only show you his tried and tested techniques, but will also share his knowledge of the area’s beautiful surroundings and wildlife with everyone who comes on board his boat.

You will be fishing aboard a 2007 Dorado boat that was originally built by Dorado Holdings but was completely designed by the captain alongside the manufacturer. Equipped with a Mercury Optimax 225 and custom Morse Throttle controls, the boat gives a powerful ride, handling chop well while also being comfortable in less than 12 inches of water. This makes it perfect for fishing both inshore and nearshore, allowing you to make the most of your time on the water in Palmetto, Florida. The boat is fitted with an 8 ft Power Pole anchoring system, and it features a custom tower for excellent sight fishing. There is a huge casting deck and plenty of storage, making this a comfortable vessel for up to four anglers on charter trips.

During your trip you will be fishing with a variety of weights of tackle, with both conventional and spinning gear available. Possible target fish include Redfish, Snook,Trout, Flounder, Tarpon, and many more. All levels of angler are welcome on board, especially children.

All Tackle, bait, and licensing is included, and the captain will also gladly clean and bag your fish at the end of the trip.

Couldn’t fault captain Mikes service, he was very good company, friendly and knowledgeable. The boat was ready and waiting at the pickup time and we set off onto the flats to start fishing. The only downside being, as Mike explained, was that there had been a recent cold spell which had dropped the water temperature and had affected the bite. He did everything he could to find us fish, and we did catch, but not good as expected. This was out of his control and he even gave us an extra hour and a half on the water trying many different spots . All in all would thoroughly recommend this captain for a trip.

All in all a good day given the water temperature dropping in the week prior to your arrival to below 68. It definaltely had the fish confused. I hope you all make it back and come out again, I had a great day despite the slower than expected bite. At least you guys took home some fish….BTW it only took about 4 days of warm weather and the water was back up to 74 degrees and a week later, we had the snook you were looking for….Now you gotta come back!!!! Cheers!!!
