Make the most of your time in Johns Pass and go fishing with Ticket Box Fishing Company. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Marlin Rice can tell you all about the local fishery.

These waters are known for Lane Snapper, Black Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Cobia, Hogfish, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Mutton Snapper, Red Snapper, Goliath Grouper, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some. On these trips, it's common to bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

Children are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available for your particular child. Feel free to bring your own snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!

You'll step aboard a 36' Yellowfin center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. We will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is always provided

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray preffered), electrolyte beverages, and a hat. Water will be available for you on board. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Full Day of Fishing with Captain Mike

12 Hour Trip – Long Range on January 15, 2026

We booked a 12-hour trip with Ticket Box Fishing Company and Captain Mike in Tampa, and it was hands down one of the best fishing experiences I’ve ever had. Captain Mike is the real deal - knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about what he does. From the moment we left the dock, he had a plan and put us on fish consistently throughout the entire day. A 12-hour trip is no joke, but he kept the energy up, made sure everyone was comfortable, and worked hard nonstop to make it a successful outing. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and everything was organized and ready to go. Best charter I’ve ever booked. Captain Marlin is the real deal.

8 Hour Trip on November 7, 2025

I booked an 8 hour offshore trip with Ticket Box Fishing Company and it turned into one of those days you don’t forget. I’m a veteran and I’ve fished with a lot of captains over the years, so it takes a lot to impress me. Captain Marlin did that and more. He wasn’t just a strong captain, he was humble, patient, passionate about fishing, and he actually taught me things instead of just driving the boat and baiting hooks. We ran out on their 36ft Yellowfin and the boat is a beast. Smooth, clean, tons of room and rigged with good gear. We got into fish fast and stayed on them most of the day. Hit our limit of red grouper, picked up a nice spread of mangrove and lane snapper, and then the moment I’ll remember forever: my first cobia. Marlin coached me through the fight start to finish. That fish measured 35.5 inches. Just short to keep, but what a rush. The price was more than fair for a day like that. I walked off the boat with a cooler full of meat and I honestly felt like a better angler than when I stepped on board. If you want a real fishing experience with someone who cares about the trip and the people on it, book with Captain Marlin. I’m already looking at dates to go again.

Near shore fishing trip on April 2, 2026 • 6 adults

captain marlins experience and knowledge of fishing was above expectations. had a great time with my family which had 3 adults and 3 children ages 5,12 and 14 on a 1/2 day trip. we caught many fish. communication was great and i highly recommend him for anyone looking for a fishing charter. thank you captain.....

Amazing half day trip with Captain Marlin. This was my second time going out with the Ticket Box Fishing company and they put us on the meat. If your in Madeira Beach wanting to go offshore fishing you should book them

6 Hour Trip on January 25, 2026

Even with the wind whipping and the seas being choppy captain Marlin still managed to put us on the fish big time! Every time we dropped a line we were guaranteed a bite. It was by far the best charter I’ve ever been on!!
