About the Captain

Warmer weather and the beautiful blue-green waters of the Panhandle lured me south after what seemed like a lifetime of working and fishing in the northeast. It only took a few trips to Destin with my wife from Louisiana, who grew up visiting Destin, to convince me to retire early from Iron Working in NYC and make a career change in paradise. So my wife, my dog, my boat and I moved south! While still in NY in 2011, I upgraded my Captain's license to the 100 ton master's license. Also while in NY, I was active in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and transferred to the Destin flotilla a few years ago when I moved here. I would love for you to book a charter with us at Topped Out Charters so I can hear your story while we are catching fish and enjoying being out in the Gulf of Mexico waters.

My wife and I went out with Captain Bill today for our first ever off shore charter.  We had an amazing time. Bill was extremely friendly and professional. We could tell that he was truly wanting us to have a memorable experience. When we do it again, we will definitely use Bill next time.

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary.  I really liked the way y’all finished the day by both catching a fish at the same exact time.  With tangled lines you still landed both fish!  True sign that you belong together.  I look forward to fishing with you both again.

This was by far the best experience I have had fishing in the ocean. I take my three boys deep sea fishing once a year and have used the same person twice. That will not be the case from here on out. Captain Bill has my business as long as I am anywhere near him. He is very attentive and will do what it takes to make the trip successful. Look forward to next years trip already.

Thanks for the great review Eric.  I look forward to next year’s trip too.  You and your boys were genuinely great people and fishermen to be with out on the Gulf of Mexico.  I appreciated the experience of being out there with y’all.

Captain Bill was great and a very personable captain ( I’ve been on some before where the Captain wasn’t so friendly, so that’s always a plus).  We did not have the best conditions but Capt Bill went out of his way (used a ton of gas) to make sure we had the best trip possible.  I would definitely recommend him.

Abundant Amber Jack!

October 23, 2016

Started out right....plentiful and multiple sized bait. Rough conditions - 3 to 5 foot seas, east winds, 20 knots plus. Still able to land plenty of big sized Amber Jack. At one point 3 out of 3 poles bent… Read Full Report →

Small Bait, Big Fish

October 20, 2016

Small bait presented a challenge, but we were still able to hook on to some nice sized AJ, a few Trigger Fish and a King Mackerel. Caught and lost some big hook-ups. Read Full Report →
