Cancún has a reputation for premier offshore fishing a short boat ride away from the dock. Explore Lifetime Experiences knows that well and is keen on showing you just why this strong reputation exists!
You’ll start your angling adventure on board their 24’ Wellcraft. Her center console design is well-suited to these waters – she can handle the shallows with ease and keep stable even in choppy offshore waters. Six anglers can fish at the same time. You can chase the bite all around the deck thanks to the central console. She’s powered by two 110 HP Yamaha outboard engines.
The crew of Explore Lifetime Experiences will take you everywhere in the waters around Cancun – from the nearshore reefs and wrecks, across the productive lagoons, all the way to the bluewater fishery! You can go after a wide range of species, depending on what you prefer and the time of year you’re fishing.
You can go after the iconic Roosterfish, Amberjack, or Permit in shallower waters. Alternatively, head into the blue and target prestigious pelagic predators like Sailfish, Marlin, various Tunas, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Kingfish, or others.
The catch list is complemented by many various Groupers and Snappers, as well as Permit, Bonito, and other species.
Anglers who are looking to take their family on a relaxing trip with fishing action should book the Isla Mujeres special. You’ll combine snorkeling, exploring a tropical island, and exciting fishing on a single 5-hour trip.
The crew will provide you with all the necessary tackle on all trips. You can combine snorkeling with fishing on any trip.

2 days before the trip I emailed “explore lifetime Experiences Cancun” to set up transportation and was told they would call me the next day, that never happened. I booked the trip for 2 small non-diesel boats in a lagoon type setting bottom fishing, cause I get sea sick really easy and, I was also taking 4 nieces and nephews. I set up transportation through the hotel to the address I was given by “Explore Lifetime Experiences Cancun” we were to meet them at 8am. when we arrived at the address I was given there was no one there that new what was going on, ie no boat. I called the cell phone of the person in charge, no answer. I then called the office number and there was no one there that spoke english. Thank God our shuttle driver took over and talked to them and figured out what was going on. “Explore Lifetime Experiences Cancun” told us to go to another dock down the road and they would have a boat for us. I am pretty sure this was all arranged on the fly, pretty sure they forgot about us. so we get to the dock down the road and stand around for about 45 minutes while they get the boat ready. so as we are getting on the boat I ask the captain if we are bottom fishing in the lagoon, he says we will see. so when we get to the boat its a diesel boat rigged for trolling off shore not bottom fishing in the lagoon. so we get out on the ocean and are on the roughest seas i have ever been on. we are all holding on for dear life and getting soaked from all the ocean spray. When the captain asks if we all took dramamine we knew we were in for a bad trip. mean while my nieces and nephews are all puking there brains out. after about an hour we tell the captain to turn us around and take us back. on the way back my son-in-law asks the captain “do you do this every day” he replies “not on days like this, cause people don’t like going out in these conditions” he the says “if we had a smaller boat we could go into the lagoon and bottom fish, and that this boat is to big to fit under the bridge to get into the lagoon”. I am also pretty sure that the boat and captain that we had were not part of “explore Lifetime Experiences Cancun” and that this was, as I said before arranged on the fly. even though I arranged for 2 small gas boats for bottom fishing in the lagoon at least 3-4 months ago.

On very short notice, Antonio and Jaime were ready to go for a short fishing trip. With a 9 and 12 year old you never know the attention span that may be available. Antonio met us near the boat, was ready to go, treated my family terrific, and was entertaining as well as a very knowledgeable Captain. After a catch, (see picture) we were extremely happy. But it gets better, Jaime took the time to fillet our fish and helped with a terrific Ceviche dish. Thanks for making our experience unforgettable ! We will be back soon. JK
