Excited to go fishing in Aransas Pass and around? Look no further than Reelshot! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain John can tell you all about them.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Blacktip Shark, Black Drum, Spotted Seatrout, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Ladyfish, Redfish, Sheepshead, and whatever else is biting. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. John welcomes children aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks!
Your vessel for the day is a 24' Shoalwater bay boat that can carry up to 4 passengers. It comes with downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Don't leave home without sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

This fishing trip was overall a terrific experience. Neither of our youngest crew members (12 $ 13 year old boys) had never been inshore fishing before much less had ever been spec / red fishing. Reelshot made a good impression on them. These experiences are soooo important to developing a lifelong passion for such an activity. The veterans (5 other adults) were pleased with our experience as John and Scott did therir very best to put us on fish…and simply guided us with everything we needed and also teaching us much more about such an incredible sport. We enjoyed reeling in an assortment of fish including specs, reds, flounder…even a great big garfish! Reelshot simply made the trip worth our while and we’ll definitely charter with them again!

Awesome day of fishing with Captain Big John, left at daybreak out of Conn Brown Marina, caught our Redfish limit and back at the dock before lunchtime. I would highly recommend booking your next fishing adventure with ReelShot.
