If you're ready to go fishing in Marathon, book a trip with Ariel Medero. Your guide for the day is Captain Ariel, bringing aboard their professional experience.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Cobia, Goliath Grouper, Black Grouper, Sailfish, and anything else that bites. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Ariel also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be fishing aboard a 25' Center console with space for 4 passengers. It comes with outriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
A few items to bring include sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Bottled waters are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Mid March Fishing Trip

We had a great time out on The Gamer 25 with Captain Austin this past mid-March! The weather definitely didn’t make things easy—high winds had us working against the conditions, and while our original goal was to hook into some bigger sport fish like tarpon, cobia, or even wahoo, luck just wasn’t on our side for those.
That said, Captain Austin made sure we still had an awesome experience. We stayed on the fish and ended up bringing in a really fun mix: scamp, Nassau grouper, mangrove snapper, lane snapper, and mutton snapper. The highlight of the day, though, had to be reeling in a 5-foot lemon shark—easily the most exciting fight of the trip!
What really stood out was Captain Austin himself. He was incredibly accommodating, listened to exactly what we wanted out of the trip, and did everything he could to make it happen despite the tough conditions. His attitude, effort, and knowledge made all the difference.
Even without landing our original targets, we walked away with a fun, memorable day on the water. Highly recommend Captain Austin and The Gamer 25—we’ll definitely be back!

We had an amazing experience fishing out of Marathon with Big Game Charter and Captain Ariel Medero. He put us on fish all day and made sure we landed plenty, capturing great photos along the way. The boat was very comfortable and well maintained, and the gear was top-notch—everything you’d want for a smooth, successful day on the water. The entire trip was pleasant, relaxed, and truly enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend Big Game Charter with Captain Ariel for anyone looking for a great fishing charter in the Keys

my sons - ages 21,19, and 15 - went out with Austin on an afternoon trip. we were worried that they wouldn’t catch any fish because people have been telling us that the fish normally bite in the morning. But, the boys had so much fun pulling in all kinds of fish for the whole trip! They said Austin was an amazing guide and was super helpful. Making sure they had a good time. Our family of Giants had enough fish, for nearly four meals at the end of the trip!
